A Tiered Approach to Precision Testing and Personalized Care

At Lung & Allergy Health Associates, we provide complete, science-backed evaluations for allergic conditions and immune dysfunction. Our four-tiered model aligns testing complexity with patient need—from everyday allergies to complex immune regulation disorders triggered by modern biologics.

Allergy & Immune Conditions We Treat

Our team evaluates and treats a wide range of allergy and immune-related conditions, including:

  • Food allergies and food-triggered reactions
  • Environmental allergies (pollen, dust mites, pets, mold)
  • Asthma and exercise-induced breathing problems
  • Eczema and atopic dermatitis
  • Chronic hives (urticaria) and swelling (angioedema)
  • Medication and drug allergies
  • Insect sting allergies
  • Recurrent infections and suspected immune deficiencies
  • Complex immune system disorders related to biologic therapies

Whether you’re dealing with everyday allergy symptoms or rare immune conditions, we create a clear plan to understand triggers and improve quality of life.

Is Allergy or Immune Disease Affecting Your Daily Life?

You may benefit from seeing our allergy and immunology team if you or your child:

  • Has ongoing sneezing, congestion, itchy eyes, or sinus pressure
  • Experiences frequent rashes, hives, or eczema flares
  • Has reactions after eating certain foods
  • Has asthma symptoms that are not fully controlled
  • Gets repeated ear, sinus, lung, or skin infections
  • Is starting or already receiving biologic medications and needs immune monitoring

We work with you to identify what’s driving these symptoms and design a treatment plan that fits your life.

Foundational Allergy Testing

This first level of testing focuses on the most common allergy triggers and is often where we start.

Ideal for:

Food, pollen, pet, and mold allergies; asthma; eczema; and seasonal symptoms.

  • Skin Prick Testing (SPT)
  • Intradermal Testing
  • Serum Specific IgE Testing (sIgE)
  • Symptom Trigger Mapping & History Intake

Advanced Allergy Diagnostics

When symptoms are complex or standard tests don’t give clear answers, we use advanced tools to better understand risk and tolerance.

Ideal for:

Complex food reactions, unclear symptoms, history of anaphylaxis, or planning allergy immunotherapy.

  • Component-Resolved Diagnostics (CRD)
  • Oral Food Challenge (OFC)
  • Drug Allergy Panels and Challenges
  • Aspirin/NSAID Desensitization

Standard Immunology Evaluation

This level focuses on how well the immune system protects the body from infection.

Ideal for: Recurrent ear, sinus, lung, or skin infections and suspected primary immune deficiencies (PIDs).

  • Quantitative Immunoglobulin Levels (IgG, IgA, IgM, IgE)
  • Vaccine Response Panels (Pneumococcal, Tetanus, Hib)
  • Lymphocyte Subsets (T, B, NK Cells)
  • Neutrophil Oxidative Burst Assays (DHR)
  • Basic Genetic Panels for PIDs

Advanced Immunology & Biologic-Related Testing

Some patients receiving advanced therapies—such as biologic medications for asthma, eczema, or autoimmune disease—need deeper evaluation of how these treatments affect the immune system.

Ideal for: Secondary immune deficiencies, immune dysregulation syndromes, and monitoring of complex biologic therapies.

This tier is designed for patients undergoing advanced therapies (e.g., Dupixent®, biologic monoclonals, JAK inhibitors) who may develop complex immunologic side effects. We utilize specialized immunopathology panels available only through reference-grade diagnostic labs.

Key Highlights

  • Specialized immune profiling panels available through reference-grade diagnostic labs
  • Close collaboration with TPIRC Diagnostics Laboratory to interpret advanced results
  • Results used to fine-tune treatment plans and improve safety

Key Tests Include:

  • Cytokine Panels (IL-1β, IL-6, IL-10, TNF-α, IFN-γ, GM-CSF)
  • NK Cell Function & CD107a Mobilization
  • T Cell Degranulation & CTL Cytotoxicity Assays
  • Lymphocyte Activation Markers (CD25, HLA-DR)
  • Th17 Enumeration, Treg (FoxP3) Analysis
  • Apoptosis Assays (FAS-mediated, CD95)
  • B Cell Panels, BAFF Levels
  • Perforin/Granzyme B, CD40L Binding, SAP/XIAP Panel
  • pSTAT5, iNKT Cells, ZAP-70 (for SCID)
  • GM-CSF Autoantibodies & Receptor Stimulation
  • CXCL9, Interferon-alpha, S100A8/A9 & S100A12 Inflammatory Markers

Samples are processed and interpreted in collaboration with TPIRC Diagnostics Laboratory (Aperture Immunodiagnostics). This ensures the highest standards for rare and complex immune profiling.
